New Homes Backed

Wynyard Park Ltd has received outline planning permission for 200 homes on its flagship development at Wynyard, Tees Valley.

Plans to build 200 executive-style houses at Wynyard have been backed by Hartlepool councillors.

As part of the plans, the developer has agreed to provide £1.2m towards the provision of affordable homes within the Hartlepool area. The council will decide exactly how and where the money will be spent. Wynyard Park Ltd is also making a £600,000 contribution towards highways improvements in the area.

Conservative group leader Ray Wells said, " We do need more executive housing in the borough and this is the perfect site for that."  Labour councillor Jonathan Brash added, "The £1.2m affordable housing contribution is fantastic and I would congratulate the developers and the officers who have worked extremely hard to reach this agreement."

Paul Barber, Managing Director of Wynyard Park Ltd, confirmed that his company would now enter into firm discussions with a number of house builders with a view to submitting detailed proposals next Spring.
