Strategic Sites Submits Plans for £7million Rotherham Business Scheme
Strategic Sites has submitted plans for a 95,000 sq ft (8,825 sq m) high quality business development in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Strategic Sites, the development company launched earlier this year, has submitted plans for a 95,000 sq ft (8,825 sq m) high quality business development in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The scheme will consist of eight separate units, ranging from 5,000 sq ft (464 sq m) to 25,000 sq ft (2,322 sq m) in size.
Located
adjacent to the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Templeborough, the scheme has
the potential to create around 200 jobs in the area and is likely to attract
some Objective 1 funding. Subject to
planning approval, construction will begin on-site in early 2007 with units
available for occupation by Autumn 2007.
Anuj
Joshi, director of Strategic Sites, comments:
“This is a significant scheme for the region and will provide a high quality
business location, which will appeal to both local and national occupiers. We
hope this will be the first of many projects for Strategic Sites in the South
Yorkshire region and believe there is further scope for developments of this
type.”
Tim
O’Connell, business development manager at the local authority’s regeneration
arm, Rotherham Investment & Development Office, comments: “This is a high-quality component of our
overall strategy to rejuvenate this key gateway between the M1 and the centre
of Rotherham.
“Within the next 18 months the borough will
have a range of quality offices and units on offer at Templeborough which,
coupled with our dynamic economy, will attract local, regional and national
interest.”
Strategic
Sites is a joint venture between Helios Properties plc, Kilmartin Property
Group and Wynyard Park Ltd. The company
is headed by Paul Barber, a former
director of English Partnerships, who spearheads a team of individuals with
extensive experience of delivering large-scale development projects.
The
combined expertise of the team will focus on developing office and industrial
schemes throughout the UK and in unlocking the potential of complex sites. With around £50m of resources to invest over the next 3 years, the company will
focus on developing sites in regeneration areas throughout the UK.
