Strategic Sites Wins Prestigious London Appointment
Working alongside the Berkeley Foundation, Strategic Sites has been appointed as property advisor to the global Christian charity Oasis.
Oasis Charitable Trust owns a 5,000 sq m (55,000 sq ft) office building in Lambeth, South London which it occupies as its worldwide HQ. The building also provides space for many other charities and voluntary organisations and contains many facilities for local people.
Built in the early 1960's, with a 1970's extension, the building is becoming obsolete and Oasis wishes to secure a development partner with whom it will work to secure a major regeneration of the site. The plan is to develop a major, landmark building with new facilities for Oasis and its tenants, plus an exciting range of new community facilities. The cost will be met by enabling development such as offices, housing, hotel and/or retail. The final mix will be determined by the viability of the project, the views of local people and the planning regulations.
Paul Barber, chief executive of Strategic Sites, commented: "We are thrilled that Oasis has appointed Strategic Sites as its provider of property advice on such an important project."
A process to select a development partner has already begun with Strategic Sites' help and Oasis hopes to announce its prefered developer by November.
