UK Strategic Partnership Lands Anchor Pre-Let at Advanced Manufacturing Park
UK Strategic Partnership, a joint venture between regeneration specialist Strategic Sites and UK Coal, has just landed the first pre-let at the latest phase of Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Waverley, South Yorkshire.
The joint venture was set up earlier this year to roll out the next phase of development at the AMP. This phase, to be built speculatively, will provide 94,000 sq ft (8,732 sq m) of industrial space within the AMP, offering 15 units for high-tech manufacturing accommodation.
Local manufacturing firm, Dormer Tools, has recently signed up to 20,000 sq ft at the scheme on a 15-year lease. The firm, which will be relocating from Worksop, will use the space for a state-of-the-art new research and development facility. The new multi-million pound HQ for Domer will include:
- A major research & development facility, which will see Domer collaborate with partners such as the University of Reading to pioneer new designs;
- A custom-built training centre;
- Global corporate functions such as IT, sales, marketing & product management;
- An international export service to support emerging & developing markets.
The latest phase, to be known as Evolution @ the AMP, includes 15 high-tech manufacturing units, ranging in size from 2,290 sq ft (213 sq m) to 20,000 sq ft (1,858 sq m), the first of which will be available for occupation by the end of September. All of the space at Evolution at the AMP will be complete by mid October.
Anuj Joshi, managing director of Strategic Sites, comments: “With global blue-chip operators such as Boeing and Rolls Royce already on-site, the AMP has already established itself as a centre of excellence in the automotive sector. The next phase of development offers a broader range of products on flexible terms, that are sure to attract a diverse range of occupiers seeking a presence in this vibrant hub.”
Following the completion of this latest phase, UK Strategic Partnership will be responsible for delivering the rest of the development at AMP. The 70 acre site has the potential for another 750,000 sq ft (69,677 sq m) of space, to be delivered over a number of phases. Bespoke buildings for larger occupiers can also be delivered on the park.
Lambert Smith Hampton (0114 275 3752) has been appointed as the sole letting agent on Evolution @ the AMP.
